Draft Grade — Raiders

Stone should have been long gone. The Raiders pounced, and earned a B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: David Stone, the No. 19 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 88. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Reaching for Duff left real value on the table behind him.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 KJ Duff
In the 23rd pick they get a No. 1 receiver, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick54 Rnd2 Will Echoles
Will Echoles in No. 54 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick88 Rnd3 David Stone
They will replay David Stone at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick124 Rnd4 Iapani Laloulu
They barely believed it either: Iapani Laloulu still on the board at slot 124. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick160 Rnd5 Koi Perich
Koi Perich at the 160th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick203 Rnd6 Nyziah Hunter
Nyziah Hunter at pick 203 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
