Somebody in pick 56 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Saints sat still while Omarion Hampton, the No. 32 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Joyner reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
