The Dolphins let West fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+. The board owed the Dolphins one, and it paid up: CJ West, the No. 184 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 224 like a gift left on the doorstep. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
With quarterback, edge rusher and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.
