A sensible, unshowy class lands the Dolphins a B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Dolphins reached some 26 spots for Malachi Lawrence, and value like that does not grow back. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback, wide receiver and other spots. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Wheatley pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
