Draft Grade — Lions
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Lions.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Lions took Samson Okunlola a full 66 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

Lutmer at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Samson Okunlola
In pick 25 they get a building block for the line, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick57 Rnd2 Will Echoles
They will replay Will Echoles at the 57th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick89 Rnd3 Deuce Alexander
Deuce Alexander at the 89th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
Pick127 Rnd4 Zach Lutmer
Zach Lutmer in slot 127 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick162 Rnd5 Kingston Lopa
Kingston Lopa in the Round 5 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick205 Rnd6 Xavier Lucas
You do not let a cornerback like Xavier Lucas reach Round 6, Pick 25 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick216 Rnd6 Kameryn Crawford
They robbed the room for Kameryn Crawford here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick246 Rnd7 Ezra Christensen
Steal is underselling it; Ezra Christensen at Round 7, Pick 25 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick254 Rnd7 Lawson Luckie
The board fumbled Lawson Luckie all the way to pick 254, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
