Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Browns cashed the board's mistake on Baker: B.

When a board-topper like Javon Baker slides to the Round 6 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Browns did not. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick60 Rnd2 Adisa Isaac
They took Adisa Isaac at par in the 60th pick, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick86 Rnd3 Payton Wilson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Payton Wilson in the 86th overall pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick99 Rnd3 Malachi Corley
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 99 is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick138 Rnd5 Isaiah Adams
Isaiah Adams is a better player than No. 138 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick159 Rnd5 Kamal Hadden
Taking Kamal Hadden in pick No. 159 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick197 Rnd6 Isaiah Davis
Isaiah Davis slid further than he should have, and slot 197 is lovely value for the running back. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford at Round 6, Pick 30 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick210 Rnd6 Javon Baker
You do not let a wide receiver like Javon Baker reach the Round 6 slot and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick231 Rnd7 Taulia Tagovailoa
Good price on Taulia Tagovailoa in the 231st overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
