Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Vikings for Monangai: B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Kyle Monangai at the 239th overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The cost of the Parrish reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

The trade work was a quiet net positive. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with safety the one that mattered most.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick56 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
The board had Xavier Watts higher than pick No. 56, and the safety fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick62 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins in the Round 2 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick67 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
They read the board right and TreVeyon Henderson was the payoff at pick 67. It fills a real need, too.
Pick105 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
They barely believed it either: Andrew Mukuba still on the board at Round 4, Pick 3. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick109 Rnd4 Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish in the 109th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick139 Rnd5 Hollin Pierce
No drama and no debate, Hollin Pierce went about where he belonged in slot 139. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick187 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Oronde Gadsden II. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick239 Rnd7 Kyle Monangai
Kyle Monangai at the 239th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick247 Rnd7 Ty Hamilton
They paid sticker price for Ty Hamilton in No. 247, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
