Grand theft in the Round 5 slot: the Panthers steal Cowing and grade out a B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Panthers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

The Cowing pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Adding Greg Newsome II by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
