Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bills, and a B- to prove it.

The war room fell hard for Vernon Broughton, and it showed at the Round 4 slot: 30 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The Hill pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Jahdae Barron
In the 30th pick they get a press-man option on the boundary at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick56 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Value with a capital V on Xavier Watts in pick 56, a genuine coup. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick62 Rnd2 Xavier Restrepo
They paid sticker price for Xavier Restrepo in slot 62, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick108 Rnd4 Vernon Broughton
Vernon Broughton in No. 108 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick131 Rnd4 Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa in the 131st overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick171 Rnd5 Chase Lundt
The board had Chase Lundt higher than the Round 5 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick175 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
They let Jonah Monheim come to them and pounced at the 175th pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick179 Rnd6 Tommi Hill
They robbed the room for Tommi Hill here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick206 Rnd6 Luke Elzinga
A slide stopped in slot 206, with Luke Elzinga worth more than the price. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick208 Rnd6 Kobe Hudson
They read the board right and Kobe Hudson was the payoff at pick 208. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
