Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A passer of the future in Dart, and a B-, for the Seahawks.

Somebody in pick No. 236 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Seahawks sat still while Dont'e Thornton Jr., the No. 174 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Everything downstream of Jaxson Dart depends on Jaxson Dart, and the building knows it. Every board in the league had Dart lower, and that gap is the story. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In the 18th pick they get their guy under center for the next decade, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. at slot 50 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
Pick82 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
A straight-up fair deal on Barrett Carter at slot 82, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick137 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
A quiet steal in pick No. 137: Emery Jones Jr. for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick173 Rnd5 Connor Colby
Connor Colby at pick 173 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick187 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
Circle this one: Ollie Gordon II at No. 187 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick212 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jordan Hancock in the Round 6 slot. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick236 Rnd7 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They barely believed it either: Dont'e Thornton Jr. still on the board at the 236th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
