There is reaching, and then there is Tyreak Sapp at No. 137. The 49ers jumped the board by 129 and dared it to prove them wrong. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

The Smith steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
