FutureA+
The Raiders lost the trade table, and the B- tells the story. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Raiders reached some 105 spots for Jackson Woodard, and value like that does not grow back. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Skattebo pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In pick No. 25 they get a rangy last line of defense. Need was not the driver here.
Pick37
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Booker at the 37th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick58
Rnd2
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick68
Rnd3
Tre Harris
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tre Harris in the 68th pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick108
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
A tidy bit of business in pick 108, where Cam Skattebo graded well above the range. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick143
Rnd5
Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough in slot 143 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick180
Rnd6
Caleb Rogers
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Caleb Rogers well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick213
Rnd6
Ricky White III
They paid sticker price for Ricky White III in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick215
Rnd6
Howard Cross III
By-the-book stuff, Howard Cross III at the 215th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick222
Rnd7
Jackson Woodard
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jackson Woodard this early at the 222nd pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
