A costly weekend of dealing drags the Commanders to a D-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Commanders reached some 65 spots for Dante Dowdell, and value like that does not grow back. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Johnson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
