The Panthers won the night they stopped Jones from sliding. Grade: A-.

Somebody in the 240th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Panthers sat still while Trente Jones, the No. 194 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
