The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Caleb Williams, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Getting Muhammad III where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
