The Broncos lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

Nobody had Michael Barrett this high, and it is not close. The Broncos reached 34 spots to get him at the Round 5 slot.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They banked enough surplus on Nix to cover a lot of smaller sins.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
