Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Steelers won the night they stopped Kiser from sliding. Grade: B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Steelers watched Jack Kiser slide 57 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They are betting Griffith proves the room right and everyone else wrong. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Emeka Egbuka
In slot 21 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value.
Pick52 Rnd2 Donovan Jackson
A wild overpay on Donovan Jackson in pick 52, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick83 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Quinshon Judkins in pick No. 83. The roster fit checks out.
Pick121 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
You do not let a safety like Lathan Ransom reach No. 121 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick161 Rnd5 Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles in the 161st overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick223 Rnd7 Seth McLaughlin
They read the board right and Seth McLaughlin was the payoff at the 223rd pick. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick229 Rnd7 Thor Griffith
They talked themselves into Thor Griffith at the Round 7 slot, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jack Kiser
They barely believed it either: Jack Kiser still on the board at Round 7, Pick 29. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
