Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureD
The Vikings finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Vikings committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If one pick saves this weekend, it is King.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In pick 5 they get a long-term answer under center. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick23 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
In slot 23 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. More want than need.
Pick113 Rnd4 DeWayne Carter
DeWayne Carter slid further than he should have, and the 113th pick is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. It fills a real need, too.
Pick129 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
A tidy little value on Johnny Wilson in Round 4, Pick 29, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick157 Rnd5 Isaiah Davis
Isaiah Davis in pick No. 157 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick167 Rnd5 Kalen King
They robbed the room for Kalen King here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick177 Rnd6 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith slipping to the 177th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick230 Rnd7 Tanner McLachlan
Tanner McLachlan at the Round 7 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick232 Rnd7 Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee in slot 232 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor need, but a need all the same.
