The Lions spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Luke McCaffrey, the No. 165 name on the board, in pick 201.

For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. With linebacker, quarterback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on interior defensive lineman is the choice that costs them.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
