Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Raiders and McGlothern: B+.

Somebody in No. 208 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Raiders sat still while Dwight McGlothern, the No. 161 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Pratt has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Joe Alt
A tidy bit of business in the Round 1 slot, where Joe Alt graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick59 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
A quiet steal in pick 59: Edgerrin Cooper for less than the market said. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick77 Rnd3 T.J. Tampa
They barely believed it either: T.J. Tampa still on the board at slot 77. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick86 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
They read the board right and Cooper Beebe was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 23. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick112 Rnd4 MarShawn Lloyd
The board had MarShawn Lloyd higher than No. 112, and the running back fell to them anyway. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick123 Rnd4 Michael Pratt
A reach for Michael Pratt in the 123rd pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick148 Rnd5 Mekhi Wingo
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at the 148th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Pick208 Rnd6 Dwight McGlothern
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Dwight McGlothern in pick No. 208, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick223 Rnd7 Ryan Flournoy
Ryan Flournoy in pick 223 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick227 Rnd7 Nathaniel Watson
Value with a capital V on Nathaniel Watson in the 227th overall pick, a genuine coup. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick229 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. in the 229th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
