A passer of the future in Daniels, and a D, for the Falcons.

The Falcons clearly saw something nobody else did in Luke McCaffrey, taking him 43 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It grades a D, and the process earned it.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They have staked the next five years on Jayden Daniels, which is the only story that really matters here. They will answer for taking TE-EDGE early while interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots went begging.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The Rakestraw Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
