The Falcons finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Falcons shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. It is not that Melton is a bad player; it is that the Falcons had louder needs to answer first.

The cost of the Harris Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
