The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bills reached some 102 spots for Tyler Batty, and value like that does not grow back.

That Fitzgerald pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Job largely done: linebacker settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
