You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Packers did exactly that with Dont'e Thornton Jr. in Round 4, Pick 22.

The Edwards pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
