Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall D+
ValueB- NeedB- TradesF FutureC+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Ravens for Magee: D+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Ravens were there to profit. Jordan Magee, the No. 161 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 228. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The cost of the Legette reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick Analysis
Pick34 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
They talked themselves into Xavier Legette at pick 34, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick62 Rnd2 Marshawn Kneeland
A reach for Marshawn Kneeland in the Round 2 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick68 Rnd3 Blake Fisher
By-the-book stuff, Blake Fisher at pick No. 68 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick97 Rnd3 Renardo Green
Renardo Green in No. 97 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick113 Rnd4 Brandon Coleman
The board had Brandon Coleman higher than the 113th overall pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick138 Rnd5 Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. slid further than he should have, and slot 138 is lovely value for the wide receiver. The roster fit checks out.
Pick149 Rnd5 Myles Cole
A premium they did not need to pay, Myles Cole a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick165 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
They barely believed it either: Kitan Oladapo still on the board at Round 5, Pick 29. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick228 Rnd7 Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee at Round 7, Pick 8 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick250 Rnd7 Trey Taylor
Trey Taylor at pick No. 250 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
