A costly weekend of dealing drags the Patriots to a C+.

The Patriots clearly saw something nobody else did in Donovan Smith, taking him 53 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.
