The Patriots torched the value chart for Bru McCoy, taking him 114 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Bryant. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
