Quarterback settled, Mendoza in the fold, and a B- for the Raiders.

The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Fernando Mendoza, and the whole operation now runs on his development. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The cost of the Demmings reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

However the rest shakes out, Stukes at that price is a win they earned.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

In Round 1, Pick 1 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick14 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In No. 14 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at fair value. Need was not the driver here.

A reasonable price with a little left over, Chris Johnson in the 36th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.

Blake Miller slipping to pick No. 67 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

Treydan Stukes slid further than he should have, and the 102nd pick is lovely value for the cornerback. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.

They took Bryce Lance at par in slot 117, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

They did well to land Jakobe Thomas in pick 134, just ahead of his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
