The phones were a trap the Lions kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. A weekend to file away and forget, and an F to match.

They are betting Kneeland proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. Getting Thomas where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
