Larceny in Round 6, Pick 36 lands the 49ers a B, Smith and all.

Call it larceny. Tykee Smith sat on the board until pick No. 211, and the 49ers did not need to be asked twice. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. It is not that Brownlee Jr. is a bad player; it is that the 49ers had louder needs to answer first.

Jamaree Salyer gives the group a proven body among the projects. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
