Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jalon Walker got past him. The 49ers do not have to explain a thing at Round 3, Pick 11. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

Reaching for Farmer left real value on the table behind him. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
