The board owed the 49ers one, and it paid up: Nazir Stackhouse, the No. 97 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 4 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.

A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Reaching for Daniels left real value on the table behind him. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
