Draft Grade — Packers
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Packers fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Packers were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The cost of the Johnson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Sainristil.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.

Pick Analysis
Pick41 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
Tyler Guyton in the 41st overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
They let Kris Jenkins come to them and pounced at the 58th pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick88 Rnd3 Max Melton
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Max Melton at No. 88. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at Round 3, Pick 28 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick92 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Mike Sainristil in pick No. 92. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick123 Rnd4 Ray Davis
A quiet steal in slot 123: Ray Davis for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick126 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
They took Isaac Guerendo at par in pick 126, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick127 Rnd4 Tyler Davis
Nothing to complain about; Tyler Davis went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick169 Rnd5 Marist Liufau
Good price on Marist Liufau in No. 169, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick202 Rnd6 Cedric Johnson
Cedric Johnson at the Round 6 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick219 Rnd6 JD Bertrand
A straight-up fair deal on JD Bertrand at pick No. 219, value and slot in agreement. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick220 Rnd6 Myles Murphy
Myles Murphy at the 220th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick245 Rnd7 Michael Barrett
The board had Michael Barrett higher than slot 245, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick255 Rnd7 Jalen Coker
Jalen Coker in the 255th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
