The Bills drew a line under the quarterback search with Penix Jr.: D+.

The phones were a trap the Bills kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D+.

Everything downstream of Michael Penix Jr. depends on Michael Penix Jr., and the building knows it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. It is not that Solomon is a bad player; it is that the Bills had louder needs to answer first.

Carson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They are betting Keegan proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
