Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Seahawks for Mondon Jr.: D.

When a board-topper like Smael Mondon Jr. slides to the Round 6 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Seahawks did not. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

Williams has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick33 Rnd2 Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea at No. 33 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick40 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
Circle this one: Tyler Warren at slot 40 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jake Majors
Jake Majors in the 103rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick120 Rnd4 Dylan Fairchild
Steal is underselling it; Dylan Fairchild at Round 4, Pick 19 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick158 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
They will replay Cam Skattebo at the 158th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick173 Rnd5 Antwane Wells Jr.
Antwane Wells Jr. in pick 173 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick187 Rnd6 Ricky White III
Ricky White III at pick No. 187 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick212 Rnd6 Smael Mondon Jr.
They robbed the room for Smael Mondon Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick236 Rnd7 Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams at Round 7, Pick 18 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
