A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bears to a D-.

The Bears did not so much draft Aaron Lewis as overpay for him, 211 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
