The Lions looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Junior Tafuna at slot 246 regardless, 99 picks early. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Mafah. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
