Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesC+ FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Packers a B-.

The Packers torched the value chart for Rondell Bothroyd, taking him 67 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Jordan Morgan
In pick No. 25 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Chop Robinson in Round 2, Pick 9. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick57 Rnd2 Kiran Amegadjie
Kiran Amegadjie at No. 57 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
Value with a capital V on Christian Mahogany in the 88th overall pick, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick91 Rnd3 Audric Estime
No edge and no loss on Audric Estime in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick135 Rnd4 James Williams
A straight-up fair deal on James Williams at pick 135, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick203 Rnd6 Christian Jones
Christian Jones at slot 203 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick217 Rnd6 JD Bertrand
Somehow JD Bertrand was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 42, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick219 Rnd6 Rondell Bothroyd
A big swing on Rondell Bothroyd at the 219th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick246 Rnd7 Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson in the 246th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
