Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueB NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
Bassa should have been long gone. The Seahawks pounced, and earned a B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Seahawks watched Jeffrey Bassa slide 105 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Stackhouse reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Mike Green
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery at pick No. 50 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick82 Rnd3 Tate Ratledge
Good price on Tate Ratledge in the 82nd overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jake Majors
Jake Majors at the 137th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick173 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
A running back of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 36 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick187 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse in No. 187 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick212 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey slid further than he should have, and slot 212 is lovely value for the tight end. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick236 Rnd7 Jeffrey Bassa
The board fumbled Jeffrey Bassa all the way to pick 236, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
