The Bills let Melton fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

You could see the war room lean forward. Max Melton at Round 5, Pick 23 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They will answer for taking S-EDGE early while linebacker, offensive lineman and other spots went begging.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
