Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedA- TradesA+ FutureB-
The Browns drew a line under the quarterback search with Ward: B+.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Browns watched Cam Skattebo slide 87 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The whole projection now runs through Cam Ward; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

Reaching for Ersery left real value on the table behind him. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In pick 2 they get the face of the franchise at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Aireontae Ersery. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick67 Rnd3 Colston Loveland
They will replay Colston Loveland at slot 67 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Pick94 Rnd3 Omarr Norman-Lott
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Omarr Norman-Lott reach pick No. 94 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick163 Rnd5 Jeffrey Bassa
Circle this one: Jeffrey Bassa at pick 163 is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick177 Rnd6 Jake Majors
They robbed the room for Jake Majors here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick190 Rnd6 Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick198 Rnd6 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in the 198th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick214 Rnd6 Upton Stout
Somehow Upton Stout was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 39, and they pounced on premier safety value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick215 Rnd6 Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier in the 215th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick256 Rnd7 Kaden Prather
They let Kaden Prather come to them and pounced at slot 256. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
