Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Browns cashed the board's mistake on Skattebo: B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Cam Skattebo got past him. The Browns do not have to explain a thing at the Round 6 slot.

The cost of the Carroll reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Abdul Carter
In pick No. 2 they get a bendy edge with upside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
They talked themselves into Jaxson Dart at the 33rd pick, and the board did not agree. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick67 Rnd3 Deone Walker
No edge and no loss on Deone Walker in No. 67; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jack Bech
They will replay Jack Bech at the 94th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick102 Rnd4 Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel at pick 102 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick163 Rnd5 Jake Majors
Jake Majors at slot 163 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick177 Rnd6 Cam Skattebo
Steal is underselling it; Cam Skattebo at Round 6, Pick 2 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick190 Rnd6 Jeffrey Bassa
They robbed the room for Jeffrey Bassa here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick198 Rnd6 Jonah Monheim
The board fumbled Jonah Monheim all the way to Round 6, Pick 23, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick214 Rnd6 Quinn Carroll
Quinn Carroll at No. 214 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick215 Rnd6 Jake Briningstool
They liked Jake Briningstool enough to skip the value, taking him in the 215th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick256 Rnd7 Gentry Williams
This one needs a full-page explanation: Gentry Williams in slot 256, miles early. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
