Draft Grade — Browns
Overall C+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureA
The Browns let Singleton fall and pounced. Final grade: C+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Browns were there to profit. Nicholas Singleton, the No. 100 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 203. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.

The cost of the Ewers reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong.

They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

So much rides on James Pearce Jr. that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 James Pearce Jr.
In pick 14 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
They did well to land Emeka Egbuka in the 33rd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick45 Rnd2 Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers at the 45th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick67 Rnd3 Tyleik Williams
They let Tyleik Williams come to them and pounced at pick No. 67. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick80 Rnd3 Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland in slot 80 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick93 Rnd3 Hollin Pierce
The board had cheaper options than Hollin Pierce at Round 3, Pick 29, and it noticed. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick103 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tez Johnson in the Round 4 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick167 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
Steal is underselling it; Cam Skattebo at No. 167 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick178 Rnd6 Smael Mondon Jr.
Somehow Smael Mondon Jr. was still sitting there in pick 178, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick191 Rnd6 Michael Taaffe
Circle this one: Michael Taaffe at the 191st pick is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick203 Rnd6 Nicholas Singleton
You do not let a running back like Nicholas Singleton reach the 203rd overall pick and blink. They did not. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick214 Rnd6 Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin in slot 214 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick215 Rnd6 Garrett Dellinger
Garrett Dellinger in the Round 6 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
