The board owed the 49ers one, and it paid up: Savion Williams, the No. 91 name on the board, sitting there at slot 113 like a gift left on the doorstep. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

Every board in the league had Baron lower, and that gap is the story. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
