You build a draft on nights like this. Nick Emmanwori had no business being available in pick No. 83, and the Steelers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
