Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Giants let Hancock fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

Somebody in pick 246 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while Jordan Hancock, the No. 215 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Giddens reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered. The back end got a real overhaul.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In the 3rd overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Derrick Harmon
Derrick Harmon in the Round 2 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick65 Rnd3 Elijah Arroyo
They paid up for Elijah Arroyo at slot 65 when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick99 Rnd3 Anthony Belton
The board had cheaper options than Anthony Belton at Round 3, Pick 35, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick105 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
They paid a round early for Joshua Farmer in pick No. 105, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick154 Rnd5 DJ Giddens
A premium they did not need to pay, DJ Giddens a notch or two before his time. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick219 Rnd7 Caleb Ransaw
Nice patience on Caleb Ransaw, who had no business lasting to No. 219. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick246 Rnd7 Jordan Hancock
They barely believed it either: Jordan Hancock still on the board at pick 246. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
