FutureA
Hard to poke a hole in the Giants' weekend: A-. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Giants would have aced it. Kai Kroeger at No. 246 is 36 spots clear of where he belonged.
Getting Winston Jr. where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In the 15th overall pick they get a blindside protector. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34
Rnd2
Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart in slot 34 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick44
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III at pick 44 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67
Rnd3
Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery in pick No. 67 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick99
Rnd3
Gunnar Helm
Gunnar Helm slid further than he should have, and No. 99 is lovely value for the tight end. It fills a real need, too.
Pick105
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
A tidy little value on Cam Skattebo in Round 4, Pick 3, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick107
Rnd4
Zy Alexander
The board had Zy Alexander higher than slot 107, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick126
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
The board fumbled Kevin Winston Jr. all the way to pick No. 126, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at No. 154 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick246
Rnd7
Kai Kroeger
Kai Kroeger at the Round 7 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
