FutureA+
The phones sank the Giants this weekend: B-. It is the swing that defines the weekend: Gino Garcia in pick 246, a good 55 spots before the room expected him.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Lambert-Smith. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
Trevon Diggs gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Armand Membou
In slot 12 they get an anchor for the offensive line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland is a better player than pick No. 34 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick47
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Circle this one: Malaki Starks at Round 2, Pick 15 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick65
Rnd3
Kaleb Johnson
They read the board right and Kaleb Johnson was the payoff at the 65th pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick99
Rnd3
Quinn Ewers
A reasonable price with a little left over, Quinn Ewers in the 99th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick105
Rnd4
Sai'vion Jones
They reached into another round for Sai'vion Jones, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick154
Rnd5
Barryn Sorrell
Barryn Sorrell at the 154th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It fills a real need, too.
Pick219
Rnd7
KeAndre Lambert-Smith
KeAndre Lambert-Smith in pick No. 219 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick246
Rnd7
Gino Garcia
Value said wait; Gino Garcia in the Round 7 slot says they were not listening. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
