If confidence were a draft strategy, the Seahawks would have aced it. Jordan Toles at the 160th overall pick is 111 spots clear of where he belonged.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Everything downstream of Bo Nix depends on Bo Nix, and the building knows it. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Seahawks indulged a want in Stover while a need in running back and interior defensive lineman stayed open. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not. That Trotter Jr. pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

In short, a weekend the front office will want to forget in a hurry.
