The Patriots fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Patriots came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. However the rest shakes out, McClellan at that price is a win they earned. Adding Justin Fields by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
